Lil Uzi Vert celebrated their 31st birthday with the unexpected release of Maverick “Almost Forever,” an eight-track EP that arrived on July 31. The release announcement confirmed that the project became available shortly after the rapper’s scheduled Lollapalooza performance was canceled.
Festival organizers said travel complications prevented Uzi from reaching the Chicago event in time for the planned set. The cancellation was announced only hours before the performance, creating disappointment among fans who expected to see the Philadelphia artist at the festival.
The EP includes eight tracks: “Maverick Intro,” “Go!,” “Poured,” “223,” “Yoko,” “Gas. Brake.,” “Say It Was,” and the bonus track “London.” The compact release gives listeners a new collection of solo material without guest features listed on the track lineup.
Maverick “Almost Forever” also marks Uzi’s first full project in nearly two years. Its surprise arrival connects a personal milestone with an unplanned change to the artist’s festival schedule, giving fans new music on a day originally expected to center on a live performance.
