Stevie Young has been hospitalized in Buenos Aires just days before AC/DC is set to begin a run of sold-out shows in the city. A statement from the band’s team said the guitarist was admitted as a precaution after feeling unwell and is now undergoing medical tests.
The update added that Young is in good spirits and still hopes to take the stage when the concerts begin on Monday, March 23. No further details about his condition have been made public.
AC/DC is scheduled to play three nights at Monumental Stadium on March 23, 27, and 31, marking the band’s first return to Argentina since 2009. Demand for the dates was strong enough to expand the run after the first show sold out.
Young joined AC/DC in 2014, stepping in for his uncle Malcolm Young after Malcolm’s health issues forced him away from the band. The current tour supports Power Up, the group’s 2020 album, and continues with dates in Mexico City after the Buenos Aires shows.
