The Smashing Pumpkins have announced The Rats in a Cage Tour, a North American run built around the 30th anniversary of Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. In the announcement, the band said each concert will feature two unique sets, combining music from that era with other songs from across their catalog.
The tour is scheduled to begin September 30, 2026, at the Schottenstein Center in Columbus, Ohio. It will continue through major cities including Boston, Brooklyn, Chicago, Nashville, Austin, Denver, Seattle, Los Angeles, and more before closing on November 14, 2026, at Darker Waves in Huntington Beach, California.
The run follows a busy recent stretch for the band. In 2024, The Smashing Pumpkins released Aghori Mhori Mei, their first album after longtime guitarist Jeff Schroeder left the group. The band later brought in guitarist Kiki Wong after holding an open call for applicants.
